best cabernet I have ever tasted : FIVE STARS : LIMITED QUANTITIES

This can't go on forever, not for wine of this quality. But here goes. 300 cases of what has to be one of the greatest Cabernet bargains of the vintage has been earmarked for WineAccess customers at just $20.99/bottle (on cases), almost 50% less than what the sensible spreadsheet suggested. Shipping included on orders of 4 or more.

Crane Label Tasting Notes from the WineAccess Travel Log
2006 Crane Brothers Brodatious Crane Ranch Vineyard Napa Valley
"Deep purple color. Lively aromas of tightly wound purple fruit, hint of vanilla. Deep and layered on the palate. Not obvious, but reined in, slowly shedding fine layers of chiseled red and currant fruit, building in breadth and intensity with air. Fine, dusty tannins on the finish, the calling card of the high skin:juice ratios of 2006. Carafe for an hour before drinking now or age for up to 7 years."

Syrah Blend Absolutely NOT to be missed

Pierre Label Tasting Notes
2007 Domaine St. Pierre Vacqueyras
"A traditionally made blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that spends 12 months in oak, the powerhouse 2007 Vacqueyras boasts an inky/black/purple color as well as notes of incense, blackberries, kirsch, flowers, scorched earth, pepper, and spice. This pure, full-bodied, opulent, layered, seriously concentrated wine should drink beautifully for a decade."
91-94 points--Robert Parker, Wine Advocate

"(tasting note from cuvee in 2008) Purple/black color. Huge dark, black and blue fruit aromas, with notes of cherry liqueur, white pepper in the background. The fruit really overwhelms everything here. Incredible richness on the palate with massive, primary red and black fruit flavors. Chewy. Finishes with excellent precision and length. This one should age for quite some time. Superb."
--WineAccess Travel Log, 2008

Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2005 Brodatious was one of the most talked about WineAccess discoveries of 2009. That tiny production, 'perfect blend' of estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon with a healthy dollop of estate Syrah (providing that gorgeous purple fruit middle) was a picture of lushness and balance. The buyers raved, over 100 (a record) asking for more. Only one problem. There wasn't any more. Why? The Crane's tiny holding sits in center-cut Oak Knoll, a spot that attracts the superstars of Napa -- wineries like Lewis Cellars and Caymus. Even so, Michael and Rob keep very little fruit (albeit the best) for themselves, making just a few hundred cases of Brodatious each year.

What makes the 2006 so pure, so luscious, so chiseled? Yields in 2006 were tiny, with smaller berries, more compact flavors, more explosive aromatics. Yes, the wine is still deep purple in color. But now the aromas are more currant than red fruit, the attack rich, but chiseled, with the faintly dusty tannins that are benchmark 2006. But it's the almost sneaky, opulent mid-palate that really sets this wine apart (on day 2 as much as day 1). That kernel of sweetness speaks largely of Crane's award winning Syrah, providing for the hidden plumpness that balances out all that Cabernet structure. THIS WILL SELL OUT SO MOVE QUICKLY!

$17.99 for a 2007 Mendoza Argentine Wine, 90+ rated red wine

Goulart Label Tasting Notes
2007 Goulart The Marshall Malbec Mendoza
"The 2007 The Marshall “M” is 100% Malbec aged for 18 months in 40% new French oak. Opaque purple-colored, it offers up a nose of toasty new oak, cinnamon, allspice, violets, black cherry, and blackberry. On the palate it is rich, savory, and plush bordering on opulent. With excellent depth and grip, this substantial effort will evolve for another 2-3 years and offer prime drinking from 2011 to 2029."
91 points--Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"Very juicy, with a lush beam of raspberry and blackberry fruit laced with fruitcake, melted licorice and sweet spice notes. The fruit lingers on the finish. Drink now through 2010. 1,500 cases made."

Cabernet Sauvignon, normally $56, but now only $22.99

Levendi Label Tasting Notes from the WineAccess Travel Log
2005 Levendi Cabernet Sauvignon Sweetwater Ranch Napa Valley
"Dark purple color. Beautiful aromas of plum and boysenberry. Rich and opulent on the palate with a gorgeous velour-like mouthfeel. Fine and lively on the finish, speaking to the cool climate and the extended hang time. Day 2: While a touch less explosive on the nose, the mid-palate has put on even more weight, now filled with lush, sweet blueberry purity. The finish remains firm, balancing out all that blue-red fruit opulence. Drink now (why not??) or age for up to 7 years."

Great Wine

Jaume Label Tasting Notes
2007 Domaine Jaume Vinsobres Altitude 420 Cotes du Rhone
"Silky and racy, with a floral note in front of gorgeous raspberry and boysenberry fruit that's laced with graphite and red licorice notes. The long, fine-grained finish has nice buried grip."
90 points--Wine Spectator

"Deep ruby color with beautifully vibrant, bright red fruit aromas. A touch of anise. Rich, and finely layered in the mid-palate with "nordic" lift. Fine long finish: remarkable for a wine of this price. Drink now-2012. Note: This one gains weight in the glass, so give it a half hour of air before drinking."

***** Dynamite Vinsobres!!
"Excellent smoke and leather aromas are complimented perfectly by the raspberry and blackberry flavors in the mouth. Medium finish with good weight and a silky mouthfeel. For the price, it can't be beat."
--Chad of Madison, NJ

**** The altitude is the difference...
"While the "standard" Domaine Jaume Vinsobres is good, the Altitude 420 takes it to a new level. Excellent start and finish, well worth the purchase."
--George of Cincinnati, OH

**** Delicious Rhone
"A softer beginning leads to a spicy, dry finish. I found it to be delicious with pasta and italian sausage sauce or pasta with tomato herb sauce, it handles spices very well."
--Chris of Merced, CA

**** A wonderful surprise
"Great color & nose. Lots of different notes from start to finish. Great with a hearty lamb dish."
--Steve of Sunnyvale, CA

Beckmen Label Tasting Notes
2007 Beckmen Vineyards Grenache Purisima Mountain Vineyard Santa Ynez Valley
"The brilliant 2007 Grenache Purisima Mountain is no wimpy wine at 15.5% alcohol, but wow, a seamlessness as well as copious quantities of kirsch liqueur, licorice, and spice box are present in this beautifully proportioned, full-bodied, opulent, sexy Grenache. Both intellectually and hedonistically pleasing, it should be drunk over the next 3-5 years."

Long, long finish with the kind remarkable acid balance and vibrancy. Day 2: This one won't let go. Excellent fruit and persistence with excellent cut. Here are what others had to say about this spectacular wine...

2006 Domaine St. Pierre Vacqueyras

"One of the stars of the vintage, the 2006 Vacqueyras possesses a deep ruby/purple color, fabulous stuffing, a superb, full-bodied mouthfeel, and a long, heady finish displaying a classic Provencal combination of black fruits intermixed with lavender, garrigue, and forest floor. It should be consumed over the next 5-8 years."
92 points--Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

"Deep purple color. Fabulous explosive aromas of deep red fruits, cassis and violets, with a hint of garrigue. Big and rich on the palate with terrific velvet-like mouthfeel. Firm, ripe tannins on the finish argue for a long life in bottle. As good if not better than many 2006 Chateuneufs. Drink now for its sheer opulence or age until 2020."
