6-bottle sampler of California's greatest Chardonnays 91+ rated

Wine Label Tasting Notes
2007 Landmark Vineyards Chardonnay Damaris Reserve Sonoma County
"Green-gold. Powerful aromas of orchard fruits, orange, sweet butter, lily of the valley and smoky lees, plus a strong undercurrent of iodine; smells like a serious, old-school Chassagne-Montrachet. Round and fleshy, with deep, smoky pear, sweet citrus and licorice flavors and slow-building spiciness. The smoky and floral qualities resonate on the finish, which is impressively incisive and long."

Wine Label 2007 Dutton-Goldfield Chardonnay Dutton Ranch Russian River Valley
"Well-structured, with rich layers of creamy fig, melon and apricot, gaining depth and complexity on the long finish. Drink now through 2011."

Wine Label 2007 The Ojai Vineyard Chardonnay Clos Pepe Santa Rita Hills
"Yellow-gold. Musky peach pit and mango aromas are complicated by zesty, smoky minerals. Tightly focused citrus and dried pit fruit flavors gain a gentle sweetness and put on weight with air, picking up a juicy mango quality. Firm finishing notes of bitter pear skin, tarragon and minerals give this wine a serious aspect. I'd hold off on opening this impressively concentrated wine for another couple of years."
